These are examples of a complete surrah (chapter) from the Qur'an. It was traditional (at some times and places) to illuminate the name of Allah in gold. This was also instructive in learning to read Arabic. These examples continue that tradition.

Here is an artistic representation of the surrah, and three versions from one of my copies of Qur'an ... Arabic, a transliteration (phonetic pronunciation), and English. It is not unusual to find these three-flavor copies in many different languages and alphabets, but always with the same format in three columns per page ... Arabic, transliteration, and native language.

Some of these samples were supplied by a brother who is selling a collection of Islamic clip-art. Unfortunately, I have misplaced his flyer, so when I find it, I will identify the various calligraphic styles. :-)
